Visit from author Paula Green

On Tuesday the 24^th April, we were very lucky to have the New Zealand author Paula Green come to our school to show us where she got her ideas from to write her poems. She was very inspirational and the children were inspired with enthusiasm. Some classes have been practising writing poems.

The hairy goats

The little goat has a little tail and a little smile.
The medium goat has horns and it is orange.
The big goat looks tough and scary.
The troll likes to eat goats for dinner.

KnowledgeNET and Mathletics Parent Evening

KnowledgeNET is a core part of the teaching and learning at Freemans Bay School and yet many parents are unfamiliar with it and how it works. We are providing you with a great opportunity to come along to school, find out about it and how you can support and enhance your child's learning.

Mathletics is also a key program that we use to support mathematics learning and if we have time we will also share some tips for using this with your children.

When: Wednesday 30th May
Session 1: 1:30 - 3:00 or
Session 2: 5:30 – 7:00
Why:
To learn about KnowledgeNET and Mathletics.
What is it?
How can I view my child's learning?
How can you help your children?

Where: Whanau Wai Awhina area (upstairs in the new building)

You are asked to bring one of your children with you to the sessions as we are hoping that they will be able to assist you as you move around KnowledgeNET and Mathletics. Bronwyn will be running these sessions. Babysitting will be provided for all other children by teachers from our school in the Whanau Rau area.

Parent Group are holding a sausage sizzle from 5:00-5:30 if you wish to purchase sausages for dinner.
