Dear parents and caregivers,
Our operational funding from the Ministry of Education does not fully meet the costs of running our operations at the level you expect and which we wish to provide. Fundraising, including donations and grants, makes up the balance.
In 2010, parent donations allowed us to fund a number of very worthwhile initiatives, including:
- additional teachers to reduce class sizes;
- the Reading Recovery programme;
- the Gifted and Talented and other special abilities programmes;
- Subsidising out-of-school experiences, such as camps and other class trips.
In 2011, your donation will be used to:
- Pay for additional teachers to reduces class sizes;
- Employ an extra teacher for Reading Recovery;
- Subsidise music opportunities (a school band!);
- Subsidise enrichment programmes, eg computers, art, sport, camps and other school trips;
- Increase teacher aide time for special needs students;
- Subsidise programmes for gifted and talented students and other enrichment programmes;
- Extra reading and mathematics resources to support classroom teaching and learning.
We regard annual parental contributions as the fairest and most feasible way to provide educational opportunities for all our children. This view is shared by most parents at the school, regardless of their ability to pay.
Please support our school. The contribution we suggest per child equates to only a little over a dollar a day! Please find attached alternative ways you can choose to contribute. The automatic payment option has proven to be very popular.
We rely on parental donations so that we can continue to meet and exceed your expectations about what we can deliver for all of our children.
Many thanks for your support – we really appreciate it.
Kindest regards,
Sandra Jenkins Peter Bateman
Principal Chair, Board of Trustees
