In this class thechildren will engage in creative movement and dance and learn about thepotential of their body through the exploration of space, shape, time, energyand musicality. Through movement and creative tasks, the students willcontribute their own individual movement style and ideas.
Clare Battersby is one of New Zealand’s mostexperienced dance educators, and a treasured, long-term tutor at TAPAC. Clarehas a Graduate Diploma in Movement & Dance from the University of Melbourneand has taught dance to young Aucklanders for over 25 years. She createsclasses where dance skills are explored, developed and extended in a safe,creative and encouraging environment. “I love to encourage children to expresstheir natural desire to leap for the stars, roll across the earth and run throughempty spaces.” In 2014, Clare received a Kiwibank New Zealander of the yearLocal Hero award.
